My name is Jaime Fernandez and I am a copywriter whose brain has been genetically programmed to maximize every ounce of my creative skills while in this extremely competitive but ultimately rewarding profession.

That was my explosive introduction which combined my enthusiasm for copywriting with the bravado of an energy drink advertisement. Now that I've lowered the volume of that opening sentence I can continue to describe myself at a less caffeinated pace. A recurring theme in my work history is the success I have when collaborating with others, whether it was co-writing a commercial on a tight deadline or just simply spit balling ideas with people in a room to see what sticks. When working with or for someone, I believe in creating solid, positive foundations for relationships. At the same time I do not discount the importance of being able to hold one’s work weight on an individual level.

 

I co-wrote a commercial for the New York International Latino Film Festival which aired on network and cable television and also in movie theatres around the tri-state area.  I wrote a radio ad as part of a potential ad campaign for Coca-Cola where I was able to work up close and personal with voice actors in a recording studio. I also write for numerous live comedy shows which I feel gives me an advantage in knowing what people think is funny and ultimately how to sell them on a joke. I utilize this important skill when writing ad copy to sell people on a product. 

 

Copywriting: Mastering Ad Writing, a course sponsored by Mediabistro (http://www.mediabistro.com/), reaffirmed my ad writing strengths and gave me confidence to continue to pursue this career and succeed in it.  My experience in the field is still growing, but my passion and drive is at its highest point and would make me an asset to any company or singular job I am involved in or with.
